YOUTH

Youths are women aged between 18 and 30 years.

These young ladies are entering adulthood and this programme helps them make that transition. Many of them are also making their way to becoming Adult Leaders.

YOUTH PROMISE

I promise that I will do my best:

To do my duty to my God and my Country.

To help other people and

To keep the Guide Law.

YOUTH LAW

A Guide is to be trusted.

A Guide is loyal.

A Guide is helpful.

A Guide is friendly.

A Guide is polite and considerate.

A Guide cares for the earth and living things.

A Guide is obedient.

A Guide is brave and cheerful.

A Guide is thrifty.

A Guide respects herself and others.

YOUTH MOTTO

Be Prepared

YOUTH UNIFORM

Scarf

Youth wear a blue scarf when they are enrolled, to be worn with their full uniform always.

White Shirt

A simple, short sleeved school shirt will become the girls' Youth uniform shirt. On the shirt is where all earned badges will go.

Navy Skirt or pants

Navy pants or a navy skirt can be worn with the white shirt and scarf.

Shoes

The uniform is complete with smart black shoes.

WHAT DO THE YOUTH DO?

As with all of our programmes, the girls are taught vital life skills in a fun and engaging way.

Once they have proved competent in these skills, they are rewarded with badges!

There are 8 main adventure badges, made up of a number of different clauses that the girls must complete. The badges are each centred around a specific topic and skill.

LEADERSHIP ADVENTURE

Youths delve deeper into their roles within the movement, exploring not only our origins and the roots of our traditions and customs, but also envisioning what the future of Guiding holds.

GUIDING KNOWLEDGE ADVENTURE

Youths are taught and encouraged to take part in community service projects, as well taking action on important issues surrounding them.
