BROWNIES
Brownies are aged 7–10 years old.
Brownies learn new skills, often by the way of a game. They learn skills not often found in schools and start becoming independent young girls while still having a ton of fun!

WHITE SHIRT
A simple, short sleeved school shirt will become the girls' Brownie shirt. All earned badges are / will be worn on the shirt
SCARF
Brownies will get their yellow scarf when they are enrolled, to be worn with their full uniform. The scarf has 3 badges on it - the SA Flag badge, their Region badge and their unit badge.
SHOES
Brownies can wear black school shoes OR white takkies, with neat white socks.
NAVY SKORTS
Navy skorts are worn with the white shirt and scarf.
WHAT DO BROWNIES DO?
As with all of our programmes, the girls are taught vital life skills in a fun and engaging way. Once they have proved competent in these skills, they are rewarded with badges!
There are 8 main adventure badges, made up of a number of different clauses that the girls must complete. The badges are each centred around a specific topic and skill.
BUSY BROWNIE
Brownies learn all about community service, how they can make a difference in their communities; and how to stand up for themselves!
BROWNIE STEPS
Brownies learn all about the Guiding movement, from Guiding history to where we are in the present, and their place in the organisation.
STARDOM ADVENTURE
Brownies learn to start taking responsibility for themselves. They are also guided on how to become a young leader at school, Brownies and at home.
OUT AND ABOUT
Brownies learn all about the outdoors and how to enjoy spending time camping and hiking in nature. All this while learning to stay safe as well.
CAREFUL HANDS
Brownies learn ways to stay safe at home, school and while out, as well as how to deal with emergency situations, and who to contact.
GIRL-POWER ADVENTURE
Brownies learn to embrace their power as a girl. To build their own self-esteem, that of their peers, and to take care of their bodies' health and hygiene.
CREATIVE MAGIC
Brownies get to explore the world of technology, learning how to work on computers; as well as learn how to create artistic crafts.
GREEN KINGDOM
Brownies work together to create a healthier, cleaner planet. They learn to recycle, reuse, as well as ways to reduce their own personal waste at home.
