GUIDES

Guides are aged between 10 and 14 years old.

The girls start to learn more advanced skills, are allowed to camp in tents outside, and are developing into independent and strong young leaders.

GUIDE MOTTO

Be Prepared

GUIDE UNIFORM

WHITE SHIRT

A simple, short sleeved school shirt will become the girls' Guide shirt. On the shirt is where all earned badges will go.

SCARF

Guides will get their yellow scarf when they are enrolled, to be worn with their full uniform. The scarf has 3 badges on it - the SA Flag badge, their Region badge and their unit badge.

SHOES

Guides must wear black school shoes with short white socks.

NAVY SKIRTS

Navy skirts are worn with the white shirt and scarf.

WHAT DO GUIDES DO?

As with all of our programmes, the girls are taught vital life skills in a fun and engaging way. Once they have proved competent in these skills, they are rewarded with badges!

There are 8 main adventure badges, made up of a number of different clauses that the girls must complete. The badges are each centered around a specific topic and skill.
